Rear End Install !NEEDHELPFAST!
I'm doing this at my work place and now my car is up on stands and in the way of producting tomorrow this is a big deal.
So here is a list of all the stuff I've installed.
-Moser 12bolt
-UMI Adj. Torque with Relocation Bracket
-UMI Adj. LCA's with Relocation Bracket
-UMI Adj. Panhard Bar
-Koni 4/3 shocks *only the rears installed at this time* (set to the softest setting)
-HeaterHose Mod done to factory 2001 WS6 springs
So here is the issue, I have everything in place set to factory settings. All the mounting bolts are loose because I want to load the suspension before tightening as the instructions call for. Well I let the rear end hang free with the car up on stands. I place a jack under the third member of the rear and jack. I only get about 1/2" to 1" MAX of travel before the whole car starts lifting. Now I'm thinking this might be normal since everything is newly installed maybe not set just right and things are a bit stiffer but with the full weight of the car on the rear end I'll test fit my tire and I have about twice as much wheel gap as I had before. This makes me think something is way wrong.
Any help is appreciated guys. I could really use some input.
A few things I've though of, no nothing is binding between the rear and the car. No I'm pretty sure its not the Koni's because I have wiggle them very easily by hand. Don't think its the LCA because I can still spin the mounting bolts with my fingers.
Panhard bar, Torque Arm are the culpret(s) ?
thanks guys!

Are your springs seated in the pockets correctly?

maybe I should even be asking is this normal? It might be I don't know, a friend of mine has done this before and he said that it doesn't seem like you have much travel its just the wheel gap thats really throwing me off...

I did just about the same as you -- all new UMI suspension pieces to hang my 12 bolt. It all compressed fine without any binding when I lowered the car onto its wheels. The poly bushings were definitely tighter going in than the stock pieces. I coated the bushing ends with synthetic grease in an effort to eliminate any potential squeeks.

well I have it all snugged up at the moment and all tires on the ground. Seemed to compress and sit properly, so I guess I was just paranoid. Thanks for the help man.

Your rear coils have a rubber bumper on top between the chassis and spring. You remove that and slide heater hose over the rear coils lowering the car by somewhere in the ballpark of an inch. Heater hose mod...
