Rack and Pinion

Ive bought new outer tie rod ends for my TA but im still having an issue with the inner tie rod ends.. Should I just buy a new stock replacement for over 300 bucks or buy new moog performance inner tie rods?

I dont know jack about the internals of the rack and pinion but I know I have a dead spot that makes a smacking sound in mine.

If new inner tie rods would cure it Ill go that way but I really dont know what all can wear inside of them.

What you need to do is get a helper, raise the front end and shake the tire from side to side to check for play in the steering while you or helper looks and feels the steering joints for play. If there is play you will see it and feel it. Or take it to your local shop and have them shake it down and tell you what it needs.

As for factory vs. Moog, I would go with Moog in a heartbeat, very quality stuff and a helluva lot cheaper

Oh I know it has play in it, I replaced the tie rod ends myself but that didnt cure it. Its inside the rack itself. Question is besides the inner tie rod ends what else has play in the rack? if its just the tie rod ends ill yank them out and put new ones in. I got an aligment commin soon anyway. I got upper and lower adjustable a-arms

Nothing else would cause play inside the rack, its either before (shaft) or after (tie rods)
