Pewter- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am
probably broke some stuff...
so... i have this keychain that always hits my knee when driving, so to get rid of this i hooked my bottle opener on the keyring to the steering wheel. worked fine till i took a right turn and it turned the car off... at 50... ran off the road didnt hit anything, just dirt, and a little bit of a ditch. the steering wheel was locked when i hit the ditch. i was able to back the car out easily and heard no popping. theres no body damage, just the cars way out of alignment. it tracks straight, just the drivers side tire has some pretty serious positive camber, and the passenger side has just a bit of negative camber. the steering wheel is in the 11 o'clock position when im going straight down the road...
just thought i'd share my moment of stupidity to try to prevent yours. i was planning on washing, waxing, changing the oil, and rotating the tires today, but now i get to spend atleast 100 for an alignment and a couple hours in the shop.
i know im a dumbass/asshat/ idiot, so save it...

Having a bunch of shit hanging off your key is BAD. Your VATS will probably be bad soon.

Did it put back your steering wheel to the 12 o'clock position?

You're an asshat, dumbass! And get that extra stuff off your keyring, like others have said it puts too much strain on the ignition cylinder. So, we all have further proof that these cars are not meant for off-road adventures LOL, and glad to hear you didn't bend the subframe or anything else.
