    Post your brake upgrades...

Hey all, I'm about to tackle the biggest upgrade yet (C6 Z06 brake upgrade-front and rear) Brakes don't get a lot of attention on here so I was curious to see what everyone has done. If you've changed your brakes, upgraded your brakes, or even painted/powdercoated them... post pics and tell us your thoughts.

    thx.

fwiw... went from stock to Wilwood 6-piston to the Porsche kits... all huge improvements.
Only thing about the Porsche setup is that the front offers so much bite that even with stock rear and non aggressive pads, the rears would lock... so I got rid of ABS and put a new proportioning valve... now it brakes like a mofo... you get used to it... and whenever you drive any car, you end up flooring the brakes and notice they don't brake while others are saying WTF you braking so ard for... lol... and there i was thinking the "normal" car was out of brakes... lol
Driving w/ R-compounds on the street help for great braking force too... as well as large skinnies ;-)

I wonder if I'll have the locking problem with my rears with the Corvette six piston fronts???

By direct swap...do you mean both the rotor and caliper will slide/bolt on without any modifications or adaptors?? Just install them and go??

I'm looking into doing the C5 front upgrade, and it would be nice to have new brakes for the rear to match.

Did you do the C5 upgrade or the c6 z06 upgrade? If C6, how did you get the emergency brake to work?

The rears swap but the front requires spindle work and a relocation kit.

the C6 rears aren't a direct swap are they? isn't there an issue with the E.Brake?

Awesome, thanks. So the F-body and C5 use the same size rear rotors then?

I'm going to go for the C5 Z51 brake upgrade up front once I get 18" wheels, I wonder if the Z51 brakes will work in the rear too?? I would think it would need an adaptor bracket since the rotors are larger on the Z51.
