Panhard Bar question

When I install my new panhard, do I have to jack up the car so the suspension hangs? or can i just pull the car up on my ramps and remove the old panhard like that???? thx

If it's adjustable you need the car on the wheels to get it centered. You can replace is anyway you want. Frankly ramps are the easiest anyway, you don't need to jack the car up, etc. Just get it on ramps and you can change the PHB, and adjust it too.

if I wanted to get a new cam and heads put in who would you recommend in this area?

if i purchase the UMI non-adj PHB off you will i need spacers for the bushing joints for it to fit tight , or is it a exact tight fit like the stock BHR? Also how long would shipping take?

Any PHB we sell fits, either directly in the case of poly bushings, or with metal spacers in the case of rod-ends. Whatever you get, fits the car without you running around for parts.

I strongly suggest against non-adjustable PHB's because I've never seen a car that was actually "straight", and any change in ride height, bigger tires and so on can create issues down the road. For the pretty small jump in price to even the standard adjustable PHB I think it's a no-brainer.

I'm in Western PA, almost to Ohio. The only folks I can think of that might be able to help you out is F-body Central in Maryland (Baltimore area I think). I have some customers who use them and have had nice things to say.

I would start with the stock length when you install. I know the UMI LCAs come adjusted to the stock length, but I still double checked just to make sure they started off like stock, then you can adjust from the stock length.

how do i adjust if the weight of the car is on it? to adj do i need to have the wheels hanging? measure the wheel distance from the edge of the wheel wells?

Just double checking what I just read.

The rear does not need to be lifted off of the ground to install the PHB? I can install it with full weight, up on ramps?

Please forgive my ignorance here, still learning what can be done and how it is done.

yes that what i asked too , and yeah you dont need to have it off the ground, the ramps on the rear wheels is fine just make sure you chock the front wheels

Did you already install the PHB? If so how difficult/easy was it?

Hope you don't mind me jumping in asking question. I just don't want to kill myself or end up needing to find help trying to reassemble in my driveway.

Honestly, it's two bolts.... two. All you need to do is get under the car with an 18mm and a 21mm wrench to change it. If you get adjustable you need another wrench (a big adjustable one will work), that's it. There is NOTHING as simple as changing a PHB on an 3rd or 4th gen F-body. Everything in life should be this easy.

well I was wondering if it was worth replacing the stock ones. and if i do how easy is it to do , and what brand do you suggest? thx!
