Talking New Suspension is on. Sam Strano is the man!

So early last week I called up Sam and ordered some of his springs, some Koni 4/4s, and his front/rear swaybars...

fast forward to saturday and I got the rear all installed (which was a 100% difference with the whole car, no joke; just the rears)..then yesterday i took the day off school/work to get the fronts buttoned up. only had minor issues due to lack of tools on hand (install U didnt say i would need a 17mm box wrench for the koni's...i bought a set up to 15mm :emb: )...and today i got a new alignment

i know i know, post the fucking pics i get it..

    before:

after (shitty pics, sorry..but deal with it!!)

    front:

    rear:

no i'm not going to take measurements...do a search :P

the rear looks lower by finger measurements...but i assure its not, its hard to tell, but there is a slab of concrete thats ever so slightly higher under the rear of the car, i can feel the rear hit the bump and move up when reversing in. most importantly, the car feels and handles awesome! it feels very light and nimble, simply point and shoot (especially after the alignment i put on)..still left to do however is to adjust my phr a bit and hammer mod the right rear bc my 285s are rubbing bad on mediocre left hand turns:bang:

thanks again Sam (though you're probably not on this board), i love the setup!

I've thought about getting his springs with those koni's. Definiteld makes the car look a lot better. I need to find someone local who's done it so I can test drive their car to see the performance difference.

i think same as what you have on frrax..

    camber: -1 L/R
    caster: 4.5 L/R
    toe: 1/32" in

feels so nimble, i love it!

It is always nice to find another shop that puts helping people out first. I just got my LCAs and Hawk pads from Strano. Great guy spent the time to talk with me and make sure that I ended up with what I wanted. Even cost me less then I was planning on spending. Can not wait to get a set of his springs and Koni's once I move to a place with a few a little less of a mountain for a driveway

It's been a long time since I've been here on LS1.com. Last time I was, it was dead. Glad to see it back! Almost as glad as I am to see the good responses to what we do. Thank you!

same exact set up here from sam this summer and i LOVE it as well....w/o the sways though.......anyone know how much of a difference sams sways will make over stock? according to sam my koni's are set a lil stiffer than he likes his at so maybe thats making up some of the difference for me ..less body roll but a lil stiffer ride ..think my fronts are 3 sweeps from full hard and the rears are 3 settings from full soft.....oh and i still havnt had my front end alignment done ..been paying close attention to tire wear and it looks fantastic still...sam says from the factory they generaly come with around .5 to 1.0 positive camber so im obvously neg now...im wondering how much? -2 or -3 maybe? ...should get that checked in the spring..hehe

Shocks don't limit the roll, only slow it down. Bars would flatten the car more, quicken response too. That could well allow you to down the damping a touch for a better ride without losing the cars ability to change direction. It would roll *less*, and probably ride better because you should find it to your liking to drop the damping.

I FREAKIN love my Strano set up. My car felt like a fat pig before and almost put in the ditch with some high speed cornering (way too much body roll). It should be illegal for GM to make a 160mph car that handles like that stock! I have driven cars with other kits and it has the best ride too. Eibach sportlines particularly have the worst (bounciest) ride.
