    Marking struts

    Hey guys doing struts and shocks tomorrow. Does anyone know how to mark the struts for alignment, I have never done them on a camaro before?

    dont think you need to do that for 4th gens...........maybe 3rd gens......

    I forgot I actually have a shop manual laying around, it says to mark the bottom where it bolts to the lower control arm with chalk. I will find out tomorrow.

    removing the shock will not affect the position of the control arm....the only thing that could affect the alingment is loosening the lower control arm bolts and or removing the arms............the upper arm is fixed..........no adjustment there

    Technically, they are not struts, they are coil over shocks. The upper mounts have a little bit of room to move so note their position, otherwise the upper and lower mount of the shocks do not affect alignment.
