Lowering springs w/ stock shocks?
I really want a lowered stance for my car, but I don't think i can afford to get both shocks and springs (~$700). How will my car be with just the springs? I've heard it's bad for the stock shocks (which will be replaced someday) but how long with they last and how will my ride be with just springs?

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
it's shitty, man. I'm currently running around like that. It's a very harsh ride-every bump is amplified b/c the shocks are compressed so much and can't absorb the bumps properly.
Seriously, get the springs you want, let them sit in your garage; then get the shocks and install it all at once.

stock shocks is the culprit of all the handling (or lack of there of) in stock form... if anything, I'd change shocks and not springs.
Since you want to lower, getting Koni SA front shocks will allow to lower 3/4" due to 2 perch locations on the shock. Getting Bilstein HD in the rear keeps cost down, great shock on stock spring... and do the hose-mod in the rear, lowering the same amount.Eugenio_SS

Save your money for the shocks. Install everything in at the same time. You will be happy you did. Save and get the koni's all the way around. My springs sat in the garage for about four to five months before I went with the koni's. Did everything at once and I am glad I did.

ok so the koni SA front shocks lets you lower the car 3/4" in the front, and you have to do the "hose mod" on the bilstein HD in the rear to lower the rear also? what is the hose mod, never heard of it? also is 3/4" too much you think for a daily driver? I want to lower the car but I don't wanna be scraping all over everything either

the hose mod in the rear is independant of the shock choice.
On top of the spring, there is the big rubber hat called spring isolator... you can replace that by heater hose on the top 1st coil, to avoid metal-metal contact.
that lowers the car by ~3/4"... and it's safe... many ppl use this in SCCA races.
