Everyone should try to stay away from progressive springs as the dampers (shocks) can deal with the changing rates of progressive springs.

If it says 310-550lbs (or similar) stay away from them...
Did you mean the shocks can't deal with the changing rates of progressive springs? I thought the whole idea of progressive springs was to give you a nice soft compliant ride over small bumps, but quickly stiffen over harsher or large bumps, which seems like a great idea. Are there any shocks out there that are made to work and last with progressive type springs?
