*Just installed rack and pinion got a probelm

I just installed a new rack opinion and used the seat belt through the steering wheel but after i'm done tires are not strait the steering is was off the steering where spins around. Do i not have that shaft hooked up right and should take of the tie rod bolts straighten the wheels by hand then take that shaft back out try to fit it how it goes or something??? Thank you

Hard to tell what is going on here... are you saying the steering shaft may not be properly connected to the rack? Any time you replace steering components, such as the rack, tie rod ends and such, an alignment is recommended. I always carefully measure the old stuff and set the new parts as close as I can to make the car driveable.
