Inspected suspension, found a few things...
It's official. Took the car over to my buddy's garage yesterday to do a further detailed inspection of the rear suspension as I was still having some vibration issues. Found a few things....
1 - Driver's side cat, at the weld-point to the ORY, is hitting the body
2 - Right before it goes into the "Y", the cross-over pipe from the driver's side is hitting the body as well
3 - Both Poly TA and Trans Mounts I installed are fine and tight
4 - Torque Arm is TWISTED
Upon installing the new mounts on Thursday this past week, I thought that the TA looked a bit bent IMO, but I don't have the best vision by any means. And being in a hurry, I just wanted to make sure all bolts were tight so I could go and do a road test. So yesterday, my buddy and I were looking things over at his house and he noticed it looked a little bent in his opinion too. And it was... the bottom was bent out to the driver's side and mis-aligned from the top over an inch
Anybody ever done this before? Between LT1s and LS1s, this will be my 6th one and I've never had this happen. I know there's a company that sells some rubber that mounts somewhere to keep the exhaust from hitting the underbody of the car so I'll do a search for that. The TA I have, I was told is for a 3rd gen, duno if it'll work or not . Think I'll just talk to my contact and bust for one that's designed for the 93-02s What's funny is that I'm not making any real power, it's only an intake/exhaust car

I've heard from a few people over the years about twisting/breaking the stock stamped torque arms. I am not sure on the actual design differences between the LT1's and LS1's but I'd assume it to be very similar.

I had to pull a little on the TA in order to get the top bolt through the bracket for the mount, and I was able to do it only by hand. I had never paid attention to them before but these factory TAs really are damn weak
