Driving home all of a sudden clunking noise... BRoKEN REAR KYB ADJ shock!
Is this common for these shocks? I just put it in about 2-3 months ago at most and it broke right by the bottom bolt? My left rear shock, I didn't even have it in the firmest setting - is this common?? :bang: I went to autozone and put some "gabriels" in till i buy something better - the best shocks they had in stock were 25 bucks (my gramps has his own auto shop so I get discount) should I get third gen rear bilsteins? Does KYB ADJ have lifetime warranty?
Thanks All
Eddie

triple-black- 2000 CamaroSS convertible
as mentioned... the best thing is to contact them directly and see what they can do, hoping they help you out. Manufacturer defects do happen, it's just a matter of dealing with the issues properly when they happen... hopefully, it'll go well. Glad to hear nothing major happened, such as an accident or loss of control.

I just got in contact with one of them, and they where giving me a little run around. Then when I sent them pics they responded:
"for that mount to break like that there had to have been something
done in the installation that caused it to fail."
here is a pic of how it broke

KYB are so full of BS...
Have you tried contacting the vendor you bought it from ?
Might have better luck going that route.
Not only their shocks damping curve ain't great for our cars... but they also offer shittier customer service.
That's ashame !

Now have you figured out why people buy Bilsteins or Konis? You get what you pay for! I actually had Bilsteins on my 4Runner which wore out @ 80K. Bilstein replaced them without question. Only shocks I'll put in my cars no matter what the cost. Cheap is .... well, CHEAP! Looks like you had a cheesy weld on the mount.
