So there insurance company cut me a check snd the body shop is going to be putting in a new k member. They are going to use a factory one but I think im going to ask them to put in a BMR one (since i believe it is cheap then a stock one from GM) I’m thinking the one for turbo clearance.. its the KM013 .. Anything I need to know about these? easy fit, good produced, will it work with stock control arms?

If you drive it often I would stick with stock, mine broke in half while pulling out of a parking spot

I think abuse/production issue caused that IMO. Not a normal incident

If you search for it (on this and other 4th gen f-body websites) you will find the BMR has breakage issues.

I recommend looking at the UMI Road Race model for 'hard' street use as it is track proven:

UMI one is built to withstand cornering forces... BMR are for drag only and several failures have been demonstrated, not only on K-members, but even PHRs... I wouldn't trust them for the k-member, especially it being a critical part.
I have UMI and been racing w/ it and happy. (racing doesn't mean 1/4 mile for me)

Or you could by the UMI from me... since a lot of what you see in it I came up with in conjunction with UMI.
