    Exclamation bleeding rack and pinion???

I recently have installed a cardone rack from orielly's and having troubles with it, when I turned all the way one direction after leaving a gas station my power steering stopped working. Then I crawed under the car to check it out I noticed the boots that go over the inner tie rods to the rack look as if there going to explode. I have tried bleeding the system of air but those boots still look as if there full of air. Not sure wat is going on with the power steering system. Any comments would be much oblidged.

My guess would be bad seals in the new/rebuilt rack, look in side the boots if any oil then the rack is bad , did you reinstall the small equlizer line which allows the air to equlize from one boot to the other, if not one may build pressure. as to bleeding the air from rack you should slowly turn the steering from lock to lock about ten times which should bleed system ( may need to do this a couple times )
    just my guess,Johnny

Checked it out, sure enough seals were bad. Put in another rack, blead the system of air. Seems to be good to go.

The dealer bled my 01 Camaro over night after replacing my pump after the car only had 30k on it..

If you replaced any of the steering parts with a remaned pieces, be prepared to do it again..
