    Bad front shock??

Okay before I take my car in ('98 Z28)...

I've noticed that when I go over bumps, the front left wheel makes the same 'ol "thump" sound. But when the right wheel hits a similar bump, it makes a strong "bang", that I can actually feel. Now, I haven't noticed any leaks on the ground by the wheel, and the car sits totally even on even pavement. Could my Bilstein shock have gone bad? What else could be the problem?

Tell us a little more of your current set-up. Are you running aftermarket springs, are the Bilteins revalved to match your springs, etc.

Having said that the damper (shock) could have developed a leak and "gone bad" for sure.

I am running with the Eibach Pro-Kit. And I honestly cannot remember if the Bilsteins were revalved to match. And again, it's only the front right side that I'm having an issue with. No one else I know has a similar problem, without their car hanging low on "that" corner of their car.

For example, if I go over a speed bump (at an angle) just a little too quick, I won't hear anything from the right corner, but after the left side has completed going over the bump, I'll hear a soft bang come from the right side.

Loose bolt on shock mount? Happened on the upper mount on my truck. I would prob look at that first. It's a start.

Thanks guys. Hopefully, I'll be able to take the car in on Friday to have them take a peek.
