Do you have any mods? If your stock or lightly modded I would recomend the ls7 clutch. You can pick up a ls7 clutch kit with everything you need for about $400.

Heres the absalute CHEAPEST kit, includes LS7 Clutch and LS7/LS2 flywheel (ls7/ls2 flywheels are the same)
http://www.sdparts.com/product/SDLS7...ClutchKit.aspx
$420 shipped.......
I got my new master/slave cylinders at advance auto parts for $70 a piece....
I ended up getting a stage 2 spec, because a local covette speed shop that also works on f-bods said that the design on the ls7 clutch fingers was bad, that they stick or somthing, i forget......but i still belive a ls7 on a ls1 lightly modded would be alright.....
Ive seen the combo go for $300-350 on egay.......

Do you need a different clutch. The simple answer is no you could go with a stock replacement but they run about the same as the ls7 kit so why not upgrade to something that can handle more power.
ls2 flywheel, pressure plate, and disc. One other thing I would highly recomend is to replace the slave cylinder its about $150 for a stock replacement. It does't have to be replaced but its very easy to change when the clutch assembly is removed. You can opt not to replace it now but if you ever do have to replace it later you will have to pull the tranny again and remove the clutch assembly again. Really its only a matter of time before it needs it anywasy. Some cars go all there life with out needed it changed some are garage queens with 15k on them and they need to get replaced.
