I bought mine from umi and the fit and finish is awesome. I bought the pistol grip shifter as well. I recommend umi all the way and they also sponser this site.

You will be really happy with the short stick.

Both ours and the WS6Store are a good short stick. The differences is the UMI stick is slanted towards the driver and the WS6Store is straight. The WS6Store stick fits the factory non-Hurst bases and the ours do not.

    Merry Christmas!

I heard the MGW shifter is awesome. Not sure if UMI's short stick will fit or not. I was gonna get a new shifter but the short stick I got from UMI has been great. I love it and was super easy to install

Got the umi stick installed, I really like it! Shifts are positive and the throw feels shorter. Quality piece and It looks better. No more rubber broom handle vague shifting. Umi is a great company. I've got all their suspension parts on my other car.

Glad to hear everyone likes the shifter!

And like mentioned it won't fir the MGW base, it is mostly designed for the stock Hurst Base and Pro 5.0 base.

    Thanks!

I run the WS6 store short stick on my factory Hurst shifter. Don't like it. Too short. 2nd and 4th gear are so close to the rear of the console I'm actually lifting my elbow up and over to pull the stupid thing back. Causes me to miss 2nd gear consistently. The console design doesn't help.

I honestly need it to be about 2 inches longer. I'd try a UMI if it were longer??

Heard too many bad things about WS6Store and nothing but great things (myself included) from UMI.

Never had issues with the WS6 store. Bought a few things from them.
As far as buying a short stick, you can't go wrong there. It's just a piece of steel with 2 holes and a threaded end

My complaint is the darn thing is too short. I just wanted to know if the UMI stick is longer or not.

The UMI stick is 6.375" long. It feels perfect to me. Sits right in the center of my hand when I rest my arm on the console. I'm sure the angle on it helps with that. I have yet (knock on wood) to miss a shift with it. And I have NO issues with it hitting the console. I also use the stock leather hurst knob.

The stock leather hurst knob probably helps then because that thing sticks up another couple inches.
I had mine on there, but removed it because I prefer the classic look of a black round hurst knob.
Your stick being 6.375" long is also already longer than mine at 6". Just too short. The stick itself isn't hitting anything, but my arm is since the stick is getting so close to the rear of the console. When I'm in first gear the stick sits dead center, that's just not right in my opinion. First gear should be closer to the driver and up in the left hand corner. If it did that then maybe 2nd and 4th wouldn't be so far near the back of the opening.

I either need to make a switch to a longer stick, or heat and bend the stick I have, or just widdle one myself.
