Not just for a clutch job.

However, most any car can benefit from a tune, modded or not.

You do NOT have to have a tune to put LTS/ORY on, if you can live with the SES light on.

    Ask me how I know.

The only "problems" I had after my LT/ORY install was the light was on, I got almost 2 MPG better highway mileage, and I was faster at the drag strip by 2-3 MPH and .2 ET. I didn't like seeing the light on all the time, tho.

And oh yeah, the car was way louder until I got the Aerochamber muffler.

Too Fast and I go back and forth on this all the time . In my opinion, if you're not getting a tune when you install LT headers and ORY, then you aren't doing the job right. But the decision is up to you.

Good thing we have opinions, eh?

I'm sitting here trying to think of something witty to write, but I fail.

Hey, we both make valid points and essentially the argument either way is a draw.

I think the correct answer is: NO, you do not "need" a tune for a LT/ORY install. However, if you want to maximize the potential gains that can be seen and for your car to run as efficient as possible, a tune is recommended. With that said, you almost think to yourself...yeah, it is needed. Running a little rich without one will not hurt anything though. People on here have ran theirs for 1-2 years.

I agree. That's why I say, for the most gains with any combination, even stock with no mods, a tune is required. And I ran mine with no tune over 3 years, just had the pesky SES light on.

I've seen people post here about a 10-15 HP gain on their stock cars, about what a mail order tune nets cars after headers.
