    Exclamation Trouble with reverse

I just recently sold my 98 camaro and bought a 2000 Trans Am but it has an issue. Its a 6 speed manual transmission and when I put it in reverse I have to hold the shifter in place while backing up or it pops out of gear. All the other gears work perfectly fine. Any help with this subject would definitely be appreciated!

my local tranny shop told me they "flipped the slider" not sure what that intails, but it was a $50 fix...

Now sometimes when I put the car and reverse it gets stuck in reverse. Even if I put the shifter in neutral or 1st gear as soon as I let of the clutch the car start going backward. I usually have to play with it for a bit before I come out of reverse and I can move foward.
