    Transmission better than T56?

What transmission do you prefer above the T56? I plan on doing a procharger build and will need a trans that can hold more than 600 RWTQ (stock T56) What experience do other people out there?

A Beefed up Viper/Vette T56 will handle the abuse.

Yup, you will be better off having a performance build done to your t-56 istead of trying to fit in a whole new setup. These transmissions can be built to handle way more power than that procharger will throw to it.

Well the T56 sounds like it is gonna work fine. Anybody making 800 - 1000 rwhp out there having problems with (or liking) a built T56?

A stock T56 can handle a ton of power, and a build T56 can take just about anything you can throw at it.

If a built T56 isn't enough, the next step up is a Tremec TR6060 (also known as T56 Magnum). The TR6060 is the new version of the T56, with stronger internals and larger and wider gears.

Owning a 9 sec ricer is like coming out of the closest: at first you'll surprise everyone, but in the end you're still gay

There are several places that will do this for you.

I chose RPM as they are within 2 hours of where I live in Indiana and are very reputable.

Just to give you an idea of what upgrades are available and pricing.

I don't wait for things to break and I would rather sell a perfectly good transmission than one that is in pieces...

I've known several guys with Prochargers and T56s, they were fine. Throw money away if you like.

My 3-4 keys broke in my T56 with 15,000 miles on her. That was with stock power.

Some T56's are good and last forever no matter how much you beat on em... Some of them you might as well throw away.

The transmission shop informed me that is VERY common in the T56 and a good amount of the ones they upgrade have broken keys. I have an upgraded trans now so hopefully I am good to go...

I believe the keys are part of the synchro shift mechanisms and don't have anything to do with how much power the transmission can handle.
