Trans Problem!!!
a cuople weeks ago i got on the gas hard and when i went to hit 3rd it ouldnt go into gear. i ignored but it kept actin funny when i got on it or even half throttle. so the other day i got on it half throttle and when i came to a stop at the stop sign close ahead from where i did this at it wouldnt go in 1st 3rd 5th or reverse but it went in 2nd 4th and 6th just like normal, so i had a brand new GM clutch and slave cylinder put in it and had the clutch fluid bleed. today i got on about 3/4 throttle in 2nd and it did it AGAIN, 1st 3rd 5th an reverse didnt work but 2nd 4th and 6th did, what is goin on?? PLEASE HELP!!

Does it grind when you try to put it those gears, or you cannot put it into those gears at all?

sounds like it might be an internal transmission problem.

it grinds igoing into 3rd eveyonce and a while but after a drive it awhile after i get on it it goes right back to normal. its got 93k miles on it so.. i thinks its time for a tranny rebuild. but could it be a fluid problem in the tranmission problem??

Usually if the tranny cannot be put into a gear, I would suggest the forks are bent. I guess it's possible that when you hammer on the throttle, the torque is causing something to flex. I would suspect, as Cutlass stated, that you have an internal tranny problem.

i had that problem and paid to get my tranny rebuilt. after the shop tore my tranny apart they called and said that my shifter had broken and all i needed was a new shifter. after that it worked fine again.

OP - I was also thinking something to do with your shifter or the linkage. The fact that is does it in ALL upward gears seems a little weird to me.

I have the same problem, the syncros in the transmision are not catching up. Call Lamota Ford, there's a guy there that fixes that problem and charges something like $600.00 to do it.

Check the shifter first if you have a short throw.
