    Tranny Whine

I am looking at a 2000 Trans Am with an M6 and 67k miles. When I test drove it there was a loud whine in first and second gear. Once I shift into third the whine disappears. I got up to 80 and no noise at all. Anyone know what this could be? The car is great except for this. Should I steer away from it?
    Thanks for the help.

It is most likely the throw out bearing spinning. I had the same problem that started about 7k miles ago and my clutch just went out. Typically it is not an issue, it just needs to be replaced when the clutch goes. Could be a way to get him down on price though.
