    time for a new trans

so the T-56 in my TA is totally shot. i thought about sending it into Tick Performance for a rebuild but i don't know what all is screwed up inside the tranny and end up having to pay more in the long run so i'd rather just buy something new and not worry. any ideas what to get? i would like something that's a little better than stock because i want to start modding it here in a couple months when it's paid off. any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Are you totally against having the T56 upgraded with aftermarket parts like the synchronizer keys, 3-4 fork, fork pads, etc? With the proper upgrade it can be a pretty damn stout tranny I think.

What is exactly wrong with yours?

i would like to get something that's upgraded with better internals. that way i dont have to worry about it when i start adding more power. as for what's wrong with it, i know both the input and output shaft bearings are shot and it needs synchros between 3-4. i've looked at Tick's website and i like their stage 2 rebuild kit but they told me it would be about $160 increase. i just wouldnt want to send it in for a rebuild and then end up paying just as much or more than a new one just to fix it

I am in the same boat- need something NOW- transmission is making a noise like the bearings fell apart and are bouncing around inside- not good. I am also interested in any suggestions for a transmisison "upgrade" that I can just purchase and have sent to me since I don't have the downtime most require for a rebuild.
