What's the difference between the LT1 T56 & the LS1 T56 .

They are interchangeable.

I've read that the LT1 and LS1 T56's are not interchangeable due to input shaft length and clutch slave cyl designs not being interchangeable

the bellhousing..thats it
the LS1 bellhousing is longer than the lt1...and the LS1 has a bolt hole at the very top of the bell housing

So you would be able to take an LT1 T56 and interchange it with the LS1 T56 just by switching bellhousings??
