    T56 Front Plate Question

Transmission has been tore down and is getting rebuilt.

Found something of interest....Sorry for the crappy pic I was focus on the number. On the front plate on the inside side. The races that go into these 2 spots for the output shaft and the other gear shaft are "loose" when compared to the other bearing races. Those had to be pressed in while these could be pushed in by hand. At first I thought it was a bad race, bad front plate (had to get a new one) or incorrect size...etc. It took several calls to ppl and all told me that the races and the plate are correct. If you can explain why I'd feel better about this.

Also I took this quick pic to show the difference between the old syncros vs the old. The one is the back is the new one from the stage 2 kit. You can see the old one's are shot, nothing there.

The shims go under the races. The races will clamp onto the case once the input and counter shaft races are correctly shimmed and then the case is tightened.
