The problem seems to be the paper blocker rings swelling due to the synthetic fluid and causing shifting issues. As you mentioned Im sure 8-10 second cars have been upgraded to carbon blockers. Whatever works for ya its your trans-mixer not mine.
    I agree.
But if Tremec says it is okay...

Either way, I may try something different in the spring.
Mine has taken plenty of abuse.....6500RPM dumps on slicks, etc...
    Although I do not powershift.

    Mr. Luos is absolutely CORRECT.

My apologies for not being clear enough about the refill procedure/process. I never even thought that some people might fill at the shifter area.

I did fill mine at the transmission fill plug, and and stopped after it started to drain out of the fill hole. In actuality, I do believe that all the oil may not have drained out like Mr. Luos indicated, because during the filling, it did not take all 4 quarts. It took about 3.5 to 3 2/3 quarts when it started to spill back out of the fill hole.

Thanks, Mr. Luos, for keeping me on the straight and narrow!!

wait, so you can dump fluid into the shifter hole? from inside the car? and just have somebody watch the plug on the side to see when its full? i may try that, mines got 43,xxx miles on it and every gear is great except 4 seems a little rough. no noise or any thing just seems a little rougher when going into 4th.

I got my TA when it had 46k miles on it. Changed out the tranny fluid at about 50k miles. Put in non-synthetic. Used a cheap fluid transfer pump ($12) from Auto Zone. Used the filler and drain plugs. It took about 3.8 quarts.

AND..... yes, it what quite noticeably smoother shifting. I was glad I changed it.

I guess I will change my fluid now. Seems like I'm having some shifting problems that may be because of this.
