    how much power can you safely put through a t56?

    Tremec rates the F-body T56 for 450ft/lbs of torque.

    They can take around 600-800HP stock, and over 1000HP when properly built with Viper T56 parts.

    Don't expect it to last too long, if it's stock, and you start adding power. The synchro rings are weak, along with the 3-4 shift fork. But, it can be built to handle quite a bit of abuse, relatively cheap too.

    My T56 synchros got crushed with stock power when the car only had 12K miles.

    I understand that. I was just stating a point. The synchronizer keys are weak in stock form

    LOL, good news to hear, i had a guy say 415 max the truck shouldnt be over much at that point anyway and a gear slammer i am not, but i do mash it hard half way through the gear then shift
