Angry Sticky clutch pedal? Makes car stall...

My car stalled the other day rather oddly. I was at a light waiting for it to turn green. I had my clutch in and first gear was ready. Well, the car shook like a mofo then died. When I went to turn it back on, I hardly could get it out of first.

Now when I drive to work, my clutch pedal sticks to the floor. I have to 'toe' it back into normal position.

Today on the way to work, I was driving normally, but as I shifted through the gears, I couldnt get it out of 3rd to go into 4th. UNLESS, I re-engaged the clutch, which involved me 'toeing' it back up to starting position.

Basically, I have NO idea what is what is exactly messed up. Is it the clutch? Is it something to do with the pedal and its connection to the actual clutch? What parts do I buy? How much is it to fix it?

    Help.

    Thankx.

I would say that it isa pretty chance somsething happened to the clutch, my guess from the description, one of the hydrolic cylinders has died. either way you are gonna have to drop the tranny so till that happens and nothing else is out of the norm I would start there.

well my friend it sounds like you blew the master cylinder, see if you can manually pull it up from the floor then try shifting..its annoying but it wil get you around till you can get a new master cylinder...only other thing is you might have one hell of a air bubble somewhere but that will generally come on slow not suddenly like you explained. btw you dont have to drop the trans to change out the master cylinder..its on the firewall right behind the clutch.. 2 nuts and a u bolt and it is free, to change the throw out bearing you have to slide trans back, btw did it squeak at all before it started this problem?
