everyone was telling me SPEC 3+ is the sh!t.... why dont you guys like it? I stoped by a shop today and told him i wanted to replace the clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, through out bearing, master and slave cylinder. and asked him how much would he charge.... he said 250..... is it just me or is that a little bit too cheap?

yes too cheap. Depending on labor rate per hour, it should cost about $600 to $900. About 6 to 8 hours labor

I only paid $250 for my clutch install, was about 6 years or so ago tho. Spec has always been junk as long as I've been on LS1 boards.

I found a nice shop that would do it for 300 bucs but says that they wont do the Master Cylinder. should i get the Master done first or after? and should i purchase new tranny fluid even if i changed it 2months ago?

If you changed the tranny fluid 2 months ago no need to now.

I paid $0 to have mine installed.

The tranny was at RPM getting rebuilt so they installed it for free

You should do the slave and master together. In order to change the slave, you have to drop the transmission.

a friend came to look at my ride just now and said that we MIGHT need to bleed the clutch so were gonna give it a shot cause it catches but once in a while stays stuck. im really really hoping its just THAT cause right now loot is running low.

Yes. Fresh, clean fluid is a good place to start. Flush a bunch of clean fluid through it.

i dont want to rain down on your clutch but i have a spec 3+ clutch i have about a thousand miles on it and it is the biggest piece of shit i have owned im just telling you this cause it will save you alot of time and hassle if you buy a different clutch. some people swear by them but others are the same as me. you can risk it and see what side your on at the end of it but im giving you a friendly suggestion dont use any spec 3+ clutch.

sorry i didn't see you posted that but getting back to why i hate my spec 3 is because the mother fucker wont disengaged, which im dealing with it this week, it doesnt seem to hold much power and chatters like a bitch. it is better to just go with a monster clutch its a stiff peddle but my god those things are amazing
