    Slips out of 4th gear

I had a reputable shop install a new clutch in my 01 Camaro. They had issues getting it to work properly, in fact it didn't work quite right until I installed a Tick master (now the clutch works great). While driving home from the shop it slipped out of fourth gear. I took it back to the shop, they bled the clutch again and informed me that the problem was not fixed but it was not caused by the clutch work that they had done. They say it is likely something worn out in the tranny, and that the timing of it happening after they worked on it is coincidental. Is it possible that just removing and installing the transmission a few times could cause this? What are the possible reasons that it may slip out of fourth gear?

Mine 2000 z28 does the same. Tremic t-56 have carbon fiber blocker rings that wear out easily do to improper clutch engagement and the shift forks have plastic retaining pads that can fall off over time. There notorious for it.

Could it be some sort of alignment issue?

Not all t56's have carbon blockers. Only trannys after 01 do. And blocker rings will not cause the op's issue. Once the gear is engaged the blocker does nothing. if its popping out of gear then its either a worn synchro hub, broken key, or worn gear teeth. The problem the op is having can be cause by that OR since its 4th gear a misaligned input shaft.

It's not very common but it does happen. Was the issue there before the clutch install? If not i'd look at that. A tranny issue wont appear like that. Being that the problem is in 4th gear it could be that the bellhousing or tranny is misaligned putting pressure on the input shaft causing it to popout. You can google that or search it up on tech as some people have had the same issue

Number of different reasons. Damage to the case or bellhousing, improper reinstallation of the tranny/bellhousing to the engine, internal damage to the tranny - usually more severe problems present themselves if this is the case, ect..
