shifter stuck?????
i have a 94 z28 i backed the car out of the driveway then back in just rearranging my vehicles. When i went to move the car again the shifter would not go over into rev? this is the weird part after playing around with it the shifter seemed to go into all the other gears but when i let out on the clutch the car would ease fwd maybe an in. or so then stop like the ebrake was on? it did this even when the shifter was were neautral is supposed to be so i keep messing around and the shifter gets stuck now it wont move at all? i pulled the console and took the shifter out but that didnt help any ideas? i will pull the tranny out but i would like to have some ideas of what to check for before i start? thanks guys!

Sounds like what happened to me when my t56 took a dump. Get ready for a rebuild my friend. My problem was the shift forks binded and caused destruction of my synchros and it was stuck in 3rd. Good luck!

The same happened to me. Totally blew my 3-4 slider up. I was getting stuck in 4th, and it would fall out of third. I annhilated my dogs in 3rd... The others in every gear were bent to hell. I only had to replace 700 bucks worth, but I went back with steel forged internals this time. Its the price you pay for bangin them gears, lol.

If you really hadn't noticed odd shifting and banged through "rough shifts" I'd be looking at the slave cylinder.
The inching you felt may be because it ain't going into reverse at all...you are almost in 5th.
But the slave cylinders are notorious. Stop, breathe, pray a little bit....now go out and before you even start the car reach down and see if you can pull the clutch up. (If it comes up some it is a good sign.) Then, before you start, go ahead and press it in and "pull" the clutch up 3 times, PULL the clutch up, not LET it up.
Then make sure you pull it UP one last time and then start the ole girl and give it a try. If this gets it did...congratulations...you are the proud owner of a bad slave!
I think I damaged my 3rd gear synchro and broke my shifter before I knew it was my slave!
