    Shift knob dilema

Ugh, i can't decide. My car has the factory hurst shifter and therefore came with the hurst leather shift knob. I loved the feel of the knob, but was looking for some more bling.

So, i bought a LSS and an MBA billet knob. I love the way the red sets off the red interior, the WS6 logo looks great. but it just feels odd. there is no cushion between the knob and the transmission, it feels really mechanical. The hurst had cushion and felt better. The MBA also gets super hot in the summer, i think i'm going to get WS6 branded on my hand one of these days.

I just don't know what route to take, form or function. Help?

get the MBA off if it keeps getting hot in summer and cold in winter because it will be almost impossible to get it off if u leave it on there for an extended period of time. I had a black 1 and it was on about 8 months. when i went to install pro 5.0 i could not get it off. Eventually i had to put shifter in a vice and use a big ass wrench to get it off.

I got a Hurst pistol grip handle, had to have it modified to sit low but I love it. Black anodized so it's quite warm in the summer.

I put my "eightball" on once in a while. The original Hurst definitely gives a better grip, I've never pulled my hand off the Hurst shirter.

I love the feel of the stock hurst knob. I'll take function over form for most things in life.

Yeah, also very very pricey. It's 90 bucks. I'll pass.

I bought the Hurst white 6-speed knob, big, feels cold to the touch (I live in Florida) and fit perfect, $30. Looks kind of retro and cool. But it has to fit what you like as others have said.

ive had what looked like a dildo, a generic leather wrapped knob, a hurst t handle, and then the SLP hurst knob youre talking about.

i grew accustomed to the t handle and actually liked the feel, but i went out of my way to get that factory hurst shift knob because it looks really classy to me and feels pretty damn good and solid. paid 50 bucks for it and have zero regrets.

my opinion is to put the factory one back on. when you start going to the strip and just daily driving you'll really appreciate the comfort (i know you know im just saying).

and who needs bling anyway, you have an ls1. worry about needing tires.....
