Cool Shift fork install, how hard is it?

I have a buddy that has a '99 WS6 and it's popping out of gear. He says it's the 3-4 shift fork and I was wondering how hard it is to swap one.

I've never done it but here's a link to the T56 service manual. Read it and see if you think you can do it.

not a job for a novice, trust me theres a LOT of stuff there and it could be the fork pads, fork or syncros... possibly even the engaging teeth on the gear...

I would check the linkage first.

There isn't any linkage to check. The "linkage" is internal and requires trans disassembly to look at it which is the same amount of work to inspect the shift forks
