Replaced my plugs with E3.62 and put Mobil One 0-40, RP Syn ATF, and RP 75-140 rear end fluid. I haven't put her on a dyno, but i Swear that she is quicker... maybe no more than stock cause the plugs i pulled out were dead... It was pure luck that that pistons were still firing

I was right. The owner's manual does say you don't have to change it. But I'm going to tomorrow with RP DexIII. After a 4.5 hour road trip today I had trouble shifting into 2nd immediately at the first few lights after I got off the freeway. It got better as the tranny cooled. Time for new fluid. I guess I do too much driving in traffic.

Yes, change that trans fluid, despite what the manual says. BTW, how many miles do you have on your SS?

It's got almost 36k miles on it. I changed the fluid today. It still has trouble getting into 2nd gear. It feels like a problem I had with my old Toyota pickup that, when the clutch had worn, fluid had pulled from the reservoir to fill the gap until the reservoir had no more fluid to give and the clutch wasn't disengaging completely thus preventing the transmission from shifting between gears at times while driving. But my reservoir has plenty of fluid in it and, from what I've read, the '01 and '02 cars don't have the hydraulic line restriction that could possibly be the culprit. Anyone have any ideas what it might be?

This is sort of a thread hijack, sorry.

I could run my car on the dyno 5 times in a row, 5 minutes apart each time, and come up with different numbers, that's just the way it is.

Adding different fluid won't change anything. Stick with Dexron III at $3 a bottle and call it a day.

    Well the fluid didn't hurt.

Yeah, it wasn't the master. It was a shredded 2nd gear blocker ring.

It's been 3 months since I changed mine to RP Synchromesh oil and have had no problems at all. In the real cold weather it worked great, now that the weather is warming up it is just as good. I do run the Redline Shockproof in my rear end.
