Reverse lockout?
A few times when I meant to go into 5th, I accidentially hit reverse and got a little grinding. I thought there was a reverse lockout on the T56's, is there? Has this happened to anyone else?

Check to make sure the reverse lockout is connected. It is on the left side of the tranny inline with the shifter.

Yes the T56 has reverse gate protection, called an inhibitor. It is not a lock out and can be overpowered. If it were unplugged or saw no power( fuse) it would apply a load. It only releases the load with power, a signal sent by the computer.
