reverse lock out

Hey where is the reverse lock out? can I change this myself without dropping the tranny???

Sorry for butting in (A4 guy here). If you're just having problems getting it in reverse my buddy had the same problem and the ENG SEN fuse was blown, one of his 02 wires was burnt. Disregard if you've already checked.

Its on the drivers side mounted on the rear extension casting near the shifter tower. It is the solenoid with the black terminal. The solenoid with white one is for the skip shift .
BTW in is not a lockout but an inhibitor.
