    Replacing shifter

Hey guy's, I'm going to put a short throw shifter in my car but I was wondering if there was any bushings or "cups" to replace while I was in there? I've never had the shifter off so I don't know whats in there.

The shifter handle itself is held on with two bolts (13 mm hex heads). The shifter assembly is held on with four bolts (13 mm hex heads). Then you will see the Rear Offset Lever on the shaft. The bottom of the shifter sits in the cup that is in the offset lever. The Tremec manual says the offset lever must be replaced if the cup is worn out. It's held in place with a roll pin.

You don't have to replace the whole offset lever. The cup is epoxied in place and can be replaced with a similar epoxy operation. The cup is the same as the T5 part which not glued in.

Any Tremec dealer . Any GM dealer. Any Ford dealer. In that order
