Pro 5.0 installed today- my thoughts.

Pro 5.0 shifter installed (with Lou's Short stick)

    My thoughts:

    1. Easy Install
    2. nice upgrade
    3. very short (takes some getting use to)
    4. Unless mine is faulty, I wouldn't say that 3rd is IMPOSSIBLE to miss, because I have missed it twice already)

Granted I am not the world's best driver. but at the same time, I think I'm not bad either.

So maybe I got a faulty shifter

The "spring" effect from second to third, doesn't seem very springy in my opinion.

Overall I am happy with it, but it's not the miracle "never miss third gear again" product that many people swore to. I am hoping to shave a good 10th or two off my quarter mile with this and the K&N I dropped in today.

I was driving to work today-- and noticed that with the lou's short stick and the stock hurst handle- I find myself gripping it and pulling it towards me (from third to fourth which has put it in 2nd a few times (not high revved up, so no worries)-- and 2nd to third, i was "trying to hard"--

It really is fairly easy--- I still don't think the shifter is magical-- but I do like it a lot.

I may try to reposition my hurst knob, or even get a new one.

I know the K&N won't drop a full 10th off. But with the quicker shifts and a better breathing filter, I don't think 1/10 sec is too much to shoot for.

Especially because my best is 13.66-- I should be able to knock about
    4/10ths off- with driver mod.

Drive it around a bit in the city, lots of shifting especially into third. From what you are saying I think you just have to relearn a lil bit. The "driver mod" will def. payoff. I love my Pro 5.0 too, I don't miss third at all. I hear you a bit on the 4th gear, however, can't say I have ever done that, O wait, yes I have once, but it was because I had a cup in the cup holder so it threw off my angle. Nothing goes in cupholder anymore "problem solved".

    jrc1122 -------- 2002/ WS6 --- 2.267 (60 ft)--- 8.968 @ 82.58 (1/8th)--- 13.660 @ 104.43 (1/4 mile)
tires are Sumitomo (cheapo tires) @ 25ish PSI (rear)- front = 32 psi.

Oddly enough, I have had a better 60 ft, but the 1/4 mile was 13.76.

i have a pro 5.0 too, i'm thinkin you just need practice too. it has an entirely dif feel than stock, so just run through the gears a few times before gettin on it and you'll probably find the gears a lot easier. i love mine though, now i can smoke 2nd nicely on the street if i want to
