Cool Notchy shifts in my T56

The car is '99 Firebird Forumla WS6. I've only had it a couple weeks, and probablly 500 miles (85K total) and recently the shift into 2nd and 3rd feels like garbage. It feels notchy. When I first got it it was super smooth. Is it normal, or a synchro problem, or maybe nice synthetic fluid change will smooth it out? Oh and its still has the stock shifter.

Well here's an update. Its been warmer here in Wisconsin and the trans seems smoother? Does that make any sense to anyone? It was like 30s to low 50s when the notchy shifts were and now its like 60s and 70s with smooth shifts. It must be a lube issues. Maybe its a normal lube issues?? IDK

Try changing the transmission fluid to Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. Its the best fluid for the T56.

You also might want to invest in a Pro 5.0 shifter, that will make the 2-3 shift much nicer. The stock shifter and stock Hurst units suck for the 2-3 shift to begin with.
