    Cobra, Z28, GN, F250

I'd get one from one of the sponsors....It'd be a safer bet IMHO...

i have a very similar question. i have a 98 Z28 and i just ordered the LS7 clutch kit off fred beans and im going to replace the S/C and M/C and i need to know if the o1-02 ones will fit directly in or if there is any modifications that need to be made. also i keep hearing everyone talk about the drill mod and all the links they put up for it never work so wtf is it? and last but not least is the LS7 clutch kit a direct replacement also?

which sponser would you reccomend to find a good one for a DD/Race car? i dont want to break my bank either. im trying to stay within 700 bucks replacing the entire clutch system besides the flywheel which will be resurfaced. id like to go better than OEM but still stay within 700 bucks to replace the clutch, master, slave, TO, pilot and have the wheel resurfaced........any suggestions?

    Fred Beans.

And you are looking at $450 or so for clutch, then the rest for the upgraded hydraulics. So I would think you are looking at SPEC stage 3.

not to dog your opinion but i refuse to go with spec.......i have heard too many horror stories.......i was thinking more along the lines of a RAM Power Grip or Centerforce Dual Friction. I havent priced the RAM clutch but the Centerforce i can get for about 350. but i have heard that thoes arent the greatest clutches........but i really want to stay as far away from SPEC as i can.

See, I thought the only clutches that low in price were the SPEC's.

I didn't do much research when I got mine. SPEC stage 5.
SPEC did have issues 1-2 years back. It is my understanding they fixed them.

i got my ram powergrip HD from TSp for 650 shipped. fred beans also has a great price on the ls2 flywheel/ls7 clutch combo. Im thinking of maybe going that route. i paid 125 or so for my ram adjustable m/c from new era and i got my slave from oreileys for 80 bucks. you can do the clutch and slave at the same time and the master later since that can be done without having to pull the tranny.

like ive said above, ive heard too many horror stories about spec. i stay as far away as i can. i trust spec clutches about as far as i can kick them. i am on a 700 dollar budget, with the ram power grip HD what would your reccomendations be for my slave/master, TO bearing, and pilot bearing?

stock everything, but if you want an aftermarket master, then go with that. Fred Beans has great prices on all the stuff you need except for the clutch itself. Ram makes an aftermarket slave..or should i say offers a hiflow slave, but i havent used it.

We have the Ram powergrip for $369 free shipping and the powergrip hd for $389 free shipping , also have steel billet flywheels for $239 free shipping and aluminum flywheels for $359 . Ram's slave is not necessarily aftermarket , it is an 01-02 vesion of it which is better than the 98-00 .

No Problem , we do much more than just clutches , and since you are in Ohio you are not a far drive (installs and dyno tuning as well) so keep that in mind .

    Thanks ,
