i know theres no "best", but what does everyone run in theres.

Use ATF. Thats factory spec.

I run Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF, which is what most builders and performance shops reccommend.

i read in the owners manual that they do not recommend changing the fluid. why is this? do they want to sell me a new tranny down the road?

I don't know why they put that in manuals. Guess they want people to think everything is "low maintenance".

The bottom line is the fluid should be changed. If you run the car hard, I'd change it every 30K miles. If it never sees any hard use, you could probably do it every 50K miles.

There is a drain and fill plug on the trans for a reason, definitely change that fluid
