You may want to try a new master as well...replacing the slave is only half of the problem in the 98-00 cars. I did a new master & slave when I replaced my clutch and haven't had any stupid problems with it yet!

    thanks

I thought it was only the slaves that were shit in the 98-00 6 speeds.
So I only replaced the slave cylinder, but I'll do the master now as well.
    Thanks.

Hey what is this drill mod good for? I keep seeing it on threads, but I dont know if I need it if I get updated slaves and master cylinders on my 99 TA.
What is the drill mod and will the new master and slave need it done before installation?

do i need a new clutch now?

Also, I was wondering if I can still use my slp zo6 clutch, now that I spun the shit out of it in the bell housing? It only has 600 miles on it? Or can I reuse it and just resurface the slp steel flywheel?

Thats line restriction, you need to drill out the restriction in the slave line. Use a 3/8" drill bit. GM knows about it, its a major clutch killer. They owe you a new Clutch due to the restrictor they keep putting in it. When will GM learn.. prolly never.

It is 1/8th. 3/8ths would be a pretty big hole....

    where do you drill?

Im getting a master and slave cylinder from gm. They are connected and pre bled. So it comes with a new line. Do i still need to drill it before install? Also which end is it, and where do you drill?

I still dont know if i can reuse my clutch kit? Should i just resurface the flywheel or is the clutch toast?

If the kit is for 2001or2002 proberly not,but if you need instructions go to --installuniversity.com it shows the procedure.

1/8th.... my bad.... The restrictor is about 2" inches into the line, best way to find out is to use a drill bit and insert it without turning it. It should hit an obstruction. thats you line restrictor.-Tim

Your clutch shouldn't be toast, if that's all they could take none of us could drive them for more than a week. . .
