M6 Tranny Lubricant
I own a 2000 Trans Am m6 WS6, and was wanting to switch over to royal purple products. Would i use "Max Gear 75W-90" or "Synchromax"?
Also...
what would i use for rear differential?

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO
just get some traditional DEX III ATF [i belive that's an older lubricant, so look for verbage like "replaces DEX III" or "alternative for transmissions requiring DEX III"
PS, synchromax will kill your sych's as they are made from Carbon, not brass like the 01+ models.

From the factory there is a tag right on the side of the transmission that reads "Use Dexron III ATF Only". So thats a yes.
There is a difference in the synchros through the years, later years apparently had better blocker rings and synchros (early blocker rings were "paper"), but all the T56's use GM Dexron III Automatic trans fluid.
T56 Rebuilds reccommends Mobil 1 ATF, which is what I run in my transmission, its good stuff. I've also heard that Amsoil Synthetic ATF is very good as well, haven't tried it though.

Amsoil ATF Fluid
AMSOIL ATF is recommended for many applications. One of which is transmissions requiring GM DEXRON® II, III & VI specified fluids.
Resists Oxidation and Thermal Degradation
AMSOIL ATF resists thermal and oxidative degradation better than conventional transmission fluids, protecting clutches, planetary gears, valves, pumps and seals from damaging sludge and varnish deposits. AMSOIL ATF helps prevent component overheating and ensures cooler, smoother transmission operation.

I have always used the Dex III ATF in mine. If you change it enough, that will be ok. I think I'm going to switch over the the Amsoil stuff next time though. Compsyn talked me into it!
