    LS7 Clutch, Aluminum Flywheel

So, I was gonna order the LS7 Clutch kit and LS2 Flywheel from Fred Beans. I think it's about $500 shipped. I already have the slave and master cyclinder.

I know a guy has a new clutch and pressure plate for sale. He says it's an LS2/LS7. Are they the same...is it what comes in the ZO6? Since I have to buy a flywheel, I was thinking of getting a Fidanza Aluminum flywheel. It says it's for LS1, LS6, ZO6. Will this work? I'm alittle confused about what is what...thanks for the help!

Okay, after doing some research on the site...I think I'm better off with a steel flywheel. I guess I need an LS2 one. What about the clutch and pressure plate. Is the LS7 the same as the LS2 and ZO6?

So, I am gonna buy the LS2 flywheel.
Is the pressure plate and clutch the same for the LS2 and LS7? B/C, this guy says he is has a LS2/LS7 clutch without the flywheel. Thanks

The ls2 and ls7 clutch are not the same you need to find out which one it is ls2 or ls7 before you buy. I would hold out on purchasing a flywheel untill you find out what clutch this guy has. If he has an ls2 they you can buy the ls2 flywheel and ls7 clutch in a kit and save a few bucks.

I was thinking about ordering this too, but what else do you have to buy to go with it for it to fit on an LS1 F-body?

All you need is the ls2 flywheel to fit there is nothing else required for it to fit correctly.

But what else does the kit need that isnt listed there? Plus isnt the LS2 flywheel heavier? Can i used a lightened flywheel with that?

The kit has everything that is absolutly nessicary but there are parts that I would suggest, new slave cylinder, pilot bearing, new flywheel bolts. That is everything you will need with the kit. Its not necisary but recomended, I like to do things once so why not replace everything when your in there. Yes the ls2 flywheel is heavier the only option for a lighter flywheel is the firdanza aluminum, so like it some don't its your choice. Theres a bunch of threads on aluminum flywheels here so do a search and get all the info before you make up your mind.
