Just installed the shifter TODAY!!!! Awesome difference, the shifts are a lot crisper and smoother and you get a better feeling where the stick is while shifting. Only one hiccup while installing, on the first road test, second gear seemed to not want to fully engage, all I did was take the stopper bolt back another turn and boom, perfect!

    Thank God for 50* days!!!!

I'm going to bite the bullet and buy one. I've done a fair amount of investigating and it definitely looks like the way to go; hands down. (My age is starting to show! lmao!)

Here's a link I discovered that goes through the install process. I'm not sure if it's helpful or not, not until I get the Pro 5.0 in hand.

Dude...I'm jealous! I fired her up yesterday and that's it. I still can't take er on the road; way too much road salt down here!

Out of curiosity, was the initial road test with the factory settings?

The salt here really wasnt that bad, I think that sleet storm we had the other day washed most of it away. Where in MI are you?

The initial road test was right after I installed the shifter. I just had to take the boot off again and turn the lower stopper bolt a little bit, now its perfect. It vibrates more and is a little louder but its awesome.

Macomb. A little south of you.

Why would it vibrate more? Tighter than the Hurst?

The shifter assembly itself has a more noticeable metal on metal clank when you shift gears. I actually love the new sound, but the resonance from the transmission comes through the shifter now. The stock design prevented a lot of the trans noise and vibration, this one not so much. Just turn up the radio!

    Thumbs up

Feels so much better then my stock hurst witht he pistol grip. Need to get used to it a little, but so far I am really liking the results (especially the 2-3 shift).

hmmm the more i hear the more I like I have the stock shifter in my 98 ss but hate the 2-3 and after a few races because it's almost time for a new clutch it doesn't like to do that shift in high rpms sometimes I shift a little early but I think I might give this a try about how much and i looking at and any sites you guys suggest to order from?

I have true dual exhaust that dumps out of 18 bullets and long tubes. I don't hear any metal sound when I shift

Has anyone had trouble with Lou's short stick coming loose ? I have had to retighten it a few times. Used some locktite last time and it lasted almost 800 miles, but it is starting to work its way loose again.
