How is your 6speed holding up so far?

Well my rearend just went out on me i have 77k and im just worried about my 6speed going out on me soon because i hear they are alot of money to rebuild. but so far mine is shifting great i just changed to the royal purple syncromax and it does shift smoother when i would have problems getting into first gear.

i have 170k on mine. the guy that had it before me said he had the motor and tranny rebuilt, but didn't produce any paper work. so i assume that it's all stock. no leaks though. the engine/undercarriage, is cleaner than my 91 that only had 15k on the rebuild. everything seems to run well. it grinds a little going into third, but i think it's cause of the "cheap" cags mod.

should be cheap enough if you do it in time, and then you can shorten 6 gear
    when you are at it.

From what I understand, the rear ends are outr problems. As long as you don't trash on the MN6, you'll be fine. Although, I only have 17k miles on mine so far.......

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

that sucks your rear died before your clutch, amit. the t56 is pretty hardcore, and if you drive on street tires it should be OK, even with power adders.

Sucks! 23k on it and it needs reubuilt. 4th grinds everytime when it's hot and it'll pop outta 3rd if it's PMSy that day.

Oh, my rear is shot too. Yah! So that will either be rebuilt or replaced with a 12 bolt.

The car has never seen the track or beat on that much. I baby it because I'm afraid to grenade something. Sigh

Engine runs like a horse, but everything behind it blows. I know the car wasn't beat on before i bought it. It only had 6800 miles on it and was a pontiac show car. Stupid car....

Get a tranny cooler and a diff cooler.
New teeth is kinda expensive, so if you anyway have the ls1/mm6 tranny then buy a used ls6/m12, because it has much closer gears.'

19k miles so far... 900 mi out of GM dealer overhaul and first time run going into fourth it locked in gear. Not the first time it's locked either! Started tearing it down 2nite.Pulled it twice before. First time to replace bent 3/4 shift fork and pads and then a snap ring on the 5/6. Roll pin on 1/2 fork this time I think. It's embarassing and frustrating recounting how many times I've missed third or fourth gear at the track. Need a rock crusher and a super shifter!!!

My 6 speed is starting to clash in 4th. Could the Chevy shifter be the problem? I hear it could cost me $2k for a rebuild.

The clashing could be worn syncro teeth according to the Tremec Service Manual. There are other things too but, I dont have the book in front of me. I'll check the trouble shooting section later for more info.

I have 51000 on my SS and mines fine though i dont like the feel compared to the straight linkage on the 60s cars. Also to me it seems these cars shift better when fully warmed up or is it just my car?

I cant bang gears with the rail type vs a M-21 and a Super Shifter. Must be too many internal parts moving at once.
Found that the 5/6 retainer popped off the shaft AGAIN which I believe caused the demise of the syncro key (broken in half) which was located on the magnets during last nights tear down. GRRRRRRRRRR... tack weld...
Think I'll fill all the keys w/ weld and heat treat 'em. Better than paying 100 bucks for the aftermarket ones. (no offense D&D)... supply, demand and lack of cheese whiz! At least the Muncie keys are solid.
