how to change the stock knob

hi guys

i just got my car it is a m6 with the stock hurst knob

i want to change it but it is not turning

i try 2 turn it to the right but still not turning

i neeeeeeed help pllllllllz

They put some goo on it from the factory, Just turn it to the left and it will come off.

It might be easier to remove the upper handle and take it to a vise. Then use a strap wrench on the knob( so not to tear it up)

The way I did mine was I just used a crescent wrench and towel, with the extra leverage it came off easily. Granted mine was a pistol grip so it is a little more square shaped, but I would think you can use the same trick for the normal knob.

take the shifter off... two bolts and it's done... put the handle in a vice... turn by hand... if you can't get it try a little rust breaker just cover the leather so it doesnt' get all farted up and shit...
