Help! I cant get my t56 in..
Im trying to finish up my swap today and i cant get the damn trans in. I get the input shaft through the clutch and as soon as the pressure plate touches the slave cylinder it wont budge. Ive got about an inch or so gap between the belhousing and trans. The alignment tool goes all the way in. Should i grease everything up or what? Help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same problem I just started a couple of bellhousing bolts and go it the rest of the way in from there.

Try jacking up the front of the engine slightly. I had to raise up on the pulley slightly to be able to clear the tranny tunnel to get it back in.

Ok ill try that too. Thanks.
Heres a few pics. Theses just show about how far out im stuck. The trans is resting on a jack during theses pics, thats why the holes and bolts are a little off
Here you can see the slave touching the PP but thats as far as it goes...

Okay nevermind my idea. I took the bellhousing and tranny off all as one piece when I did mine.

Trans is in! We pulled her out at exactly 4am this morning. It ended up being that every time i took my hand off the alignment tool the disc would fall down a little while i tightened the PP, so i had my buddy hold it and make sure the tool would glide in and out through the process. Thanks for all the help guys.

Yeah ill be a freshman this year. I dont live around there so i havent gotten a chance to cruise anything but we did make a trip down there over summer for some races. Tons of fast cars. Hit me up or somethin when you get down there. I move in the 21st
Damn man that sucks. Thats why i never drove mine to school haha. Let me know when your ready!
On a side note though, holy shit do i love driving stick again! Its a whole new car to me. 3rd gear drops are so much fun haha. I cant get on it too hard in first or second really cus my pedal sticks and then i cant get it out of gear. I have to re bleed everything and heat wrap the line.

I just sent the T-56 out to tick performance in NC to beef up and rebuilt, I also Switched out the PCV system while its in the shop to the same as the LS6 with a catch can and installed the LS7 clutch setup with a new slave and master cylinder. Next week my cam, pushrods, and springs are getting installed. I will say getting the F'in master cylinder out was no fun at all.
