    Grind into 5th gear..

I've noticed sometimes when I shift real fast into 5th gear it will grind almost like a bad syncro.. it's only happened a handful of times which makes me wonder if perhaps I just didnt push the clutch in fast enough.. but only in 5th gear has this happened... Do I just suck at shifting fast or am I developing a problem?

What your describing is generally referred to as "clash".

The noise is the result of one gearset remaining partly engaged while another attempts to turn the mainshaft. This can be caused by a number of things. incorrect clutch adjustment or binding of clutch or gearsgift leakage. Damaged or worn synchronizer blocking rings also improper gear lube.
