Thumbs up Great Shifter Accessories I just found

Well in my search to make this shifter install perfect, noise free, etc I have found many good products that I had never heard of. First my plastic bushing was shot, and gm wanted 70 for it, but I found this one for $35 and its BRONZE, much sturdier in my opinion. A guy on an ebay store has em. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T56-T...spagenameZWD1V

Next thing I found to reduce noise and make for a cleaner and neater install is a gasket just meant for in between the shifter and tranny. Its from a mustang store, but its a good product either way. They make em for T5's and T56's.

Hope you find this useful, as I sure have from doing the whole install and not liking the parts selection out there.

Might sound a little weird, but i think u can make your own gasket. My friend blew his gasket on his goped and he made his own out of the material. His dad use to work for lucent so im guessing thats where he got the stuff from. But yeah wut the fuck? $70????

What do you mean by quieter?? What is making the noise in your tranny? I have a M6 02 WS6 and it makes a lot more noise then I would like when shifting. The guys at a hot rod shop where I take my car told me that it is just the way they are and there is nothing they can do about it. They said it be about some kind of hereditary problem with the bearings in the manual transmissions of these cars. Do you know anything of this and or is this the same problem your having?

Those bushings arent gonna make it quieter, just they will last longer.
Now now give me a little credit, i found the bushing for you!!

As far as the gasket, i use RTV sealant, it works everybit as good as any pre made gasket, i dont think they are worth the money tho......

Thanks 2 much fun, I honestly looked for t5 bushings then found the brass one, then saw your post. I'll give you the credit though, I have it sitting in the trans right now. I am sure it will be noisier, but I know it will be better than my beat up and oblong plastic one.....we'll see!
